Let the fun begin!!!!
Such a fantastic festival for all the family. August Bank Holiday 2017 we went camping in the Cotswolds at the Cotswolds Farm Park, and booked tickets for a day to go to the big feastival as everyone knows we LOVE our food so just seamed like a festival we really needed to explore!
From the moment we arrived we were so excited!! With all the banners and flags flying you felt part of the festival spirit. We had printed off the line up for the main stage and the cooking tent for the day and looked at what food vendors were going to be there so we could plan out the important not to be missed times so we could then work around that. There was just so much to do from the moment we arrived with the stands to look at, the fairground rides, the kids section, the cooking tent, the kids cooking tent, the farm park set up with all the animals, the food vendors and hay bale pyramids for the kids to climb it was truly magical!
We headed straight for the main stage as the boys did not want to miss seeing Justin on the main stage and to be honest we a loved it he was so much fun and got everyone singing, dancing and laughing!! He was the perfect choice for opening the day on the main stage entertainment as he really did entertain all ages. We were blessed with the weather and it was one of the hottest days of the year so we were very glad we took our drinks bottles with us and enjoyed the ice cream to cool us down too. The Entertainment was not only on the main stage but at the smaller spaces around the festival too. With Alex in the Cheese Hub doing a DJ set for all the ones wanting to dance, Kids entertainers in the kids section and also the cooking tent with top chefs which was one of our favourite parts of the day. We got to see the late great Antonio Carluccio cook a beautiful pasta dish with Gennaro Contaldo which couldn’t have been any better as the two of them were hilarious. We also watched the very talented Cyrus Todiwala cook up a storm in the kitchen. The boys had so much fun as no matter where you looked there was something for them to do including, tug of war, climbing palm trees, colouring t shirts, playing with play doh, petting the farm animals, doing the kids Olympics, cooking and climbing the hay bales. I can honestly say this is one of the best days out we have had with the boys and would recommend it to all families. Seeing Dick and Dom at the bandstand doing a DJ set was a great part of the day for us it was early evening and the kids were getting tired but instead of going to get our places for Ella Eyre on the main stage we stayed for the whole set Dick and Dom did and danced on the tables, the kids loved it and so did we.
Wow just wow so many food stands to choose from and all of the ones we tried were amazing! from the Halloumi fries to Pizza, squid, Burgers, Ice cream sandwiches, Pastas, Wraps, Brownies, Cakes this feastival had it all we were so impressed. The food vendors were scattered around the festival so no matter were you were you were not far from a selection of amazing food to choose from.
- Take a cool box for your drinks so if it is hot you have plenty or drinks for you and the kids that are cold. There are lots of places to get alcoholic drinks but not so many to get cold soft drinks especially sugar free.
- Take a water bottle – there are drinking water fountains at some of the toilet blocks around the site.
- Take a pull along wagon!! they do hire them out on site but cheaper and easier to take your own. You can put your day bags, drinks, picnic blankets and chairs on it but also when the kids get tired they can have a rest in it especially at the end of the day.
- Print off or screen shot the timetable on your phone so you can make sure you don’t miss anything.
- Remember to relax and enjoy
